Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions about working together? Here are the answers to what people usually ask.

About Me & My Model

  • Good question. As a freelancer, I'd be doing one task (design or strategy). As an agency, you'd be dealing with account managers, project managers, and creative teams who've never touched your brief. With me, you get the best of both: a producer, account manager, and creative director all in one. I know your vision from day one because I'm handling everything. I think about your project holistically instead of just delivering a website or some graphics. And you're not paying agency prices for a solo operator.

  • I manage the creative direction, strategy, and overall execution. For specialized work that needs specific expertise like advanced branding or packaging design, I bring in the right subcontractor. But I'm the one stewarding your project. You're not juggling multiple people. I'm not disappearing. That's the difference.

  • No, I work solo. It's just me. That means faster decisions, consistent vision, and someone who actually cares about your success. When you email me, you're getting me, not an assistant or a junior person passing your message along.

Practical & Scope Questions

  • I work primarily in Squarespace and WordPress, which cover most solopreneurs and small businesses. I also work with other platforms like Wix, Shopify or Showit depending on the project. If you're on something else, let's talk. There's usually a solution.

  • This depends on the project scope, and it's always in the agreement we sign upfront. Generally, I include rounds of feedback and iterations. But we'll be clear about what that means before we start. If you want unlimited revisions, that's a different conversation and a different fee.

  • Life happens and priorities shift. If the change is within scope, we absorb it. If it's a significant pivot that adds time, effort, or requires new expertise, we'll negotiate an adjustment. That's fair for both of us. What matters is that we talk about it early so there's no surprise.

  • That depends on what you need. Some clients want a handoff and independence. Others want ongoing support for updates, tweaks, and optimization. We can structure either way. It's a conversation based on your goals and budget.

Budget & Timeline

  • It depends on the scope. A website redesign costs more than a UX audit. A full branding project is different from a positioning strategy session. I work with solopreneurs and small businesses, so I'm flexible with budgets. Reach out and let's talk about what you actually need.

  • Again, it depends. A website redesign might be 4-6 weeks. A branding project could be 8-12 weeks. A UX workshop and implementation might be longer. I'll give you a clear timeline before we start, and we'll track it together.

  • I'd rather be honest upfront than over-promise and under-deliver. If your budget is tight, we can explore options like a smaller scope, a phased approach, or a barter arrangement (like credit for your services in exchange for mine). Let's figure out what's realistic together.

  • For larger projects, yes. We can split payments across milestones so it's easier on cash flow. Typically something like 50% upfront to start, the rest split across deliverables. We'll work out what makes sense for your project.

Process & Working Together

  • It starts with a real conversation. I want to understand your business, your customers, and what you're trying to solve. Then we do the discovery work together - research, strategy, sometimes workshops. Then I move into design and build. Throughout, you're involved and giving feedback. It's collaborative.

  • Depends on the project. At minimum, you'll need to share your story, your key offerings, and your target customer. For a website, you might provide copy, images, or brand guidelines. For a full branding project, we'll create those together. I'll be clear about what I need and when.

  • No. You don't need to speak design language or have opinions on every pixel. What I need is for you to know your business and be willing to share that with me honestly. I'll handle the strategy and aesthetics. You handle the vision.

Geography & Logistics

  • No. I work globally. I'm currently a US person based in Switzerland, but I've worked with clients in Kenya, the US, and all over. Time zones can be a little tricky, but we make it work.

  • Yes. I'm in CET timezone. We can schedule calls that work for both of us, even if we're not online at the same time. A lot of our communication happens asynchronously through email and shared docs anyway. It actually works fine.
